Terms of Service

1. Your Vex Account

Creating an account on RecipExtract creates a unified Vex account. This single account grants you access to all Vex platforms and services, including GrayRecipes, RecipExtract, and any future Vex services, without requiring separate registration on each platform.

If you already have an account on any other Vex service (such as GrayRecipes), you already have a Vex account. Simply sign in to RecipExtract with the same credentials to access all features.

Your Vex account is identified by a single unique identifier shared across all platforms. Account settings, profile information, and credentials are unified, so changes made on one Vex platform apply everywhere.

2. Single Sign-On & Cross-Platform Access

All Vex platforms use a centralized single sign-on (SSO) system. When you sign in to RecipExtract, you are automatically authenticated across all other Vex services. There is no need to create separate accounts or maintain different credentials for each platform.

Your identity is consistent across the entire Vex ecosystem. Recipes extracted here can be saved directly to your GrayRecipes collections because both services recognize the same account. Closing your Vex account affects access to all Vex services, not just RecipExtract.

3. Data Retention

All extraction data processed through RecipExtract is permanently deleted after 24 hours. This includes uploaded images, scanned documents, extracted text, intermediate processing data, and any derived recipe content.

No exceptions are made to this retention policy. RecipExtract does not maintain long-term storage of any user-submitted content.

4. Saving to GrayRecipes

Signed-in users may save extracted recipes to their GrayRecipes collection before the 24-hour expiration window. Because your Vex account is shared across platforms, saving is seamless and requires no additional login. It is your responsibility to save any recipes you wish to keep before the data is deleted.

Once the 24-hour window has passed, deleted extraction data cannot be recovered under any circumstances. RecipExtract provides no backup or recovery service for expired data.

5. Shared Content & GrayRecipes Terms

Any recipe content saved from RecipExtract to GrayRecipes becomes governed by the GrayRecipes Terms of Service. This includes content usage rights, collection policies, and data retention rules as described in those terms.

By saving content to GrayRecipes, you acknowledge and agree to the GrayRecipes Terms of Service for that content.

6. No Persistent Storage Guarantee

RecipExtract is a transient processing service. We do not guarantee the availability of your data for the full 24-hour period. Service interruptions, maintenance windows, or system failures may result in earlier-than-expected data deletion.

We recommend saving important recipes to your GrayRecipes collection as soon as extraction is complete.

7. Multi-Scan Recipes

Some recipes may span multiple pages or scans. When performing batch uploads, RecipExtract may analyze content across scans to identify complete recipes. For single-scan sessions, the system may flag a recipe as potentially incomplete if it detects missing information.

The 24-hour retention policy applies to each scan individually from the time of upload. Ensure all related scans are uploaded within a reasonable timeframe to allow cross-scan analysis.

8. General

RecipExtract is a product of Vex Industries. By using this service, you agree to these terms in their entirety. Vex Industries reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
